This original miniature enamel painting fully embraces the philosophy of wabi-sabi, showcasing beauty in unexpected outcomes. Designed to be reversible, one side features a deep, mesmerizing "night sky" contra enamel that invites you to lose yourself in thought and contemplate life's unanswerable questions. The opposite side was intended to be a bright day sky, but a chemical reaction in the kiln turned the enamel a striking green, a happy accident that serves as a visual reminder to "don't worry, be happy."

The accompanying stand is a piece of studio history. Made from solid pine and finished with black acrylic varnish, it was originally designed with screws set at different heights so you could easily slide the coin out and flip it. During adjustments, a calibration mistake altered the fit, meaning the coin no longer sits perfectly inside it. Rather than hiding this mistake, this "whoopsie" is included as an honest monument to the artistic process, proving that true mastery takes time, patience, and determination.
