Spider is the third original work to leave the A. Fraction studio - a miniature enamel painting on copper, conceived and executed entirely by hand. Painted in vitreous enamel and fired at high temperature, the image is not printed, not reproduced, not repeated. It exists once.

The subject was chosen by instinct. Spiders are creatures I have always watched from a distance - with curiosity, not fear. There is something quietly reassuring about their presence: they hold their ground, they do their work, they keep the space around them clean. This one was painted from that feeling.

The surface carries the particular luminosity that only kiln-fired glass on metal can produce: depth without gloss, colour without pigment, permanence without weight. The spider emerges from the copper as though it always belonged there.
