The Wild Within

A household creature. Open sky. The question that doesn't go away.

The Wild Within began as a self-portrait and became something else: a figure floating through a starry sky, contemplating our place in the ecosystem that surrounds and includes us. Built with fine silver wire barriers that tested every ounce of patience, it carries a tiny yellow ladybug on the shirt - a subconscious addition serving as a symbol that humanity is meant to coexist right alongside nature. Not above it. Inside it.

We build walls to pretend we're separate, but we run on daily instincts and routines just like any other animal. What’s truly wild is how much control we exert over nature, reshaping whole ecosystems to fit our lives, while forgetting that the boundary between human and wild is one we drew ourselves.

The figure floats. Not falling, not flying. Just present in the middle of it all, reminding us that we share this space with other animals and that you’d be surprised by how much you can do on your own to benefit the wild world around us.
